– The Infamy of winning –

Infamous has formulated the winning equation in back to back PSP Dallas Opens now. This mixture of clutch veteran prowess (players such as Bobby Aviles and Damian Ryan), aggressive talent (including Alex Goldman who has relatively been on fire for the past year), and a touch of solid consistent play (that of which players like Brad McCurley, Zack Wake, and Kevin Rudolph bring) has proven to be a winner. Of course it doesn’t hurt to have the rest of the cast that Los Angeles Infamous brings to the table, and with a tough time in the Challenger’s Division last year it’s inspiring to see the team come back into the Champion’s with a confident presence.

While weather reports do not exist in the realm of paintball event planning, it’s easy to point out that the event was ravished by tough weather. The fields became transformed from the utterly beautiful green sight of evenly cut grass or freshly laid turf into a realm of dissipated hopes and dreams in the shape of dark muddy terrain that weighs down the players like a chained rock. Excitement fills the air as the worries of spectators are kept at ease when powerful moves up the center of the field still remain in existence despite this lowered mobility. The player’s faces all appear in a mixture of both disappointing relief and excitement at the same time, because although storms brew in Dallas, Texas, there is nothing more reinvigorating than the first event of the year that everyone has either been training in quiet solace for…or wishing they had.

The offseason in professional paintball resembled that of free agency in the NFL, and it revealed an exciting outcome just as so. Below is the Los Angeles Infamous roster of winners for the 2015 PSP Dallas Open that reveled in this excitement:

Who is Mishka Knyazev?

He is one of the most dominant X-ball paintball players of all time.

When I told my wife Jessica I was going to write a short story about Mishka Knyazev, she responded “Who is Mishka Knyazev?”. My response to her “One of the most dominant X-ball paintball players of all time”. Her response confirmed the reason I wanted to write a short story about Mishka Knyazev.

In other major professional sports, the fans and the media usually gravitate towards the players who are flashy, louder, and often times gimmicky. Professional paintball is no different, a select small group of players get a majority of the attention. Sometimes highly gifted professional players fly under the radar, even while stacking win after win. One of the reasons I helped create Paintball Win Count, was to highlight the professional paintball players that are doing the one thing that matters most – Winning.

Mishka Knyazev is one of those select individuals who has flown under the radar. Most of the media attention surrounding his accomplishments are showered on his fellow super star teammate Konstantin Fedrov. You may not know much about Mishka Knyazev, but there isn’t a professional paintball player out there who doesn’t know him. He is a factor on the paintball field that can’t be overlooked, teams watch Mishka Knyazev play paintball and make game plans against him. He is one of the most talented professional paintball players of all time and has the win count to prove it.

My first Mishka Knyazev experience

The first time I heard about Mishka Knyazev was the year 2002 and I was just a first year rookie on the professional Team Avalanche. We were at the Campaign Cup in England, our prelim draw had us playing the Russian Legion (back when they wore pajama uniforms). My Avalanche teammates warned me about this player on the Russian Legion with a leopard sandana named Mishka, as they put it “he is the Michael Jordan of European Paintball”.

Since we would be playing them in the first round, I had to go check this Mishka guy out. I was able to catch a Russian Legion game and see Mishka Knyazev in action for the first time. Mishka was over the top of a 50 yard line snake beam looking across the field and shooting at the player in the back left corner at the same time. He was able to shoot that player out without looking. Then without even turning his head to confirm the kill, he called it out, he knew he had shot the player. I knew right then, I was looking at a person who was specially designed to play the game of paintball.

Another example of his talent was at another event in Europe. Mishka Knyazev was such a damage factor that when Dynasty played the Russian Legion, they specifically chose the side of the field that forced Mishka to play left-handed (he could not shoot left-handed at that time – see above) in an attempt to handicap him. Keep in mind, Dynasty was in a peak period gobbling up a handful of tournament wins. Mishka Knyazev made such an impact on the paintball field, a top team like Dynasty had to consider unconventional ways to neutralize him.

My perspective on Mishka Knyazev

In my opinion, Mishka Knyazev has earned the respect of every professional paintball player who has ever competed against him. No one could ever say “he is not that good”, every player had to respect his talent. He has been a top caliber player since the early 2000s and he still reigns supreme as an elite champion player. Mishka Knyazev has been a top paid professional paintball player for over 14 years.

Has Mishka Knyazev earned his pay?

The Gentle Giant – Mishka Knyazev

Despite being one of the most elite paintball champions, Mishka Knyazev is one of the most humble players in the sport of paintball. While Mishka Knyazev has every right to get in front of the cameras and brag about all of his wins and personal accomplishments, he just doesn’t, it is just not in his nature. Mishka Knyazev is a coaches dream player, he is a workhorse who goes out point after point, does his assigned job, stacks his stats, scores points, collects wins and smiles. That’s it.

No flash, no gimmick, no cocky flare ups, no trash talk. Mishka Knyazev is a true professional athlete in the sport of paintball.

Art Chaos WINS World Cup – PSP 2014

THE FINAL SCORE – Art Chaos 7 vs. Damage 0

– A very controlled Chaos –

The game sways back and forth for the entire length of the match. In true fashion for the end of the season at the great World Cup PSP Event there is a tie game with 15 seconds left. Of course it rolls into Overtime! Not just a normal Overtime, that wouldn’t be climactic enough, it goes beyond that. The time is played and still no deciding winner, which brings us to One-on-Ones. Even in this incredible after-regulation time play, it still goes back and forth in scoring. Finally a winner is decided, and this would be a fantastic finish for the largest American tournament of the year…. Except for this being just the Challengers Division, and with a notable win to Infamous that had an exciting finish over Dynasty.

Now you’re expecting a similar nail-biter in the Champions Division…right?!…

Unfortunately that was not the case, or fortunately if you’re a member of Art Chaos. With the textbook mentality of a heart surgeon they proceeded to rip apart Tampa Bay Damage, leaving the PSP fans, and the clock, almost with a feeling of wanting. The play-by-play on this match would be a verbatim repeat of Art Chaos getting key shots off break, Damage losing more bodies quickly, and Moscow’s finest closing out the field with the likes of one of their Main Line players. In their typical form Art Chaos ran a majority of points with their main first line (Konstantin Fedorov, Mikhail Knyazev, Alexander Berdnikov, Pavel Lukashuk, and Sergey Solnyshkov) with a notable appearance in the snake from Axel Gaudin as well. As if they were playing an old school arcade game of NBA Jam they had no trouble “heating up” and then hearing the background announcer give the “He’s on fire!” call. With tactical assertion they were able to build solid attacks on both the Snake and Dorito sides of the field, along with some key closings up the center.

A great PSP Season concluded with a spectacular showing of talent, leading into what seems like a hard offseason practice for some, and an even harder offseason for those that want to stay on top.

The goal of every professional paintball player…the goal of every professional athlete…better yet, the goal of any athlete that has ever had any competitive spirit and pride in themselves and their team is to win. Yes, of course you’re thinking right now, “What about having pride for the game?”…”What about trying your hardest?”…”What about just having fun?!”. No! No! No!

The goal of any and every professional paintball player (I checked, it’s true) is to win an event. Whether it’s Chicago, or Paris, or Toronto, or some other city in some other country the goal is to win an event. Every year in the professional paintball circuit, and specifically this time in Europe, someone will go above and beyond to deliver more. Art Chaos WINS Paris World Cup

– The finishing touch –

Nothing says epic like an overtime point in the final match, of the final tournament, at the final resting stop, which just so happens to be Paris. The Millennium Series ended in brilliant fashion, with a scoreboard reading an even two points each Art Chaos was up against Houston Heat. The game, as the scoreboard easily reflected, had been an evenly paced match with both teams having moments of glory. Heat and Art Chaos respectively both stayed with their top five players for the most part that had been playing well. While Houston Heat took a more traditional approach pushing aggressively on both the snake and dorito sides, Art Chaos dabbled in the middle of the field as well. It was a fairly paced match, and neither team was looking to give up any mistakes.

There was an exciting progression in the way that Art Chaos had played, as if they had planned to have a breakout finish and just waited in prey to execute. After Heat scored consecutive points with little hardship, (Konstantin) Fedorov in his common and notable form displayed a star performance to break open the fourth point of the game in favor of Moscow’s very own. With the game tied, and proceeding to overtime, Art Chaos displayed a textbook fashion of game victory. Little by little they were able to dwindle the Houston bodies until all that remained was the winning buzzer of the tournament.

Although Art Chaos was not able to control the series title as they did in 2012, they were still able to clinch the win and roll this momentum into the next World Cup that will be held in Florida later this month. PSP, here comes some winners ready to go.

The Professional Paintball Division

THE PROFESSIONAL PAINTBALL DIVISION

Living amongst kings. The professional paintball division is the most elite level of paintball – period. There is nothing above it, no more levels to climb. It is the best of the best in paintball competition. It is a brutal division where high level skills, physical physique and mental toughness are mandatory. This is where the alpha dogs compete for respect, metal hardwares and big fat prize checks.

Just getting to the professional paintball division requires a strong mix of talent, dedication and sacrifice. Winning in the professional division is even harder and it does not come easy, that is a fact. Every player in the professional paintball division wants to win. Except wanting is not enough, the work must be done, the winning will not just happen, not in the professional paintball division. The fact is only one team leaves the tournament a winner and the rest will be haunted by missed opportunities, minor mistakes and left wanting another shot.

Despite all of the difficulty, pain and suffering involved in losing. One win can change it all, one win will make all the bad memories go away. That moment under the sun, in the world of paintball is a moment where professional players are kings. It comes and goes with a blink, it must be savored, professional players must enjoy every moment on top of the podium. The professional paintball division does not allow players to rest on past achievements. The feeling of victory lasts until the next paintball tournament when another team comes along to get crowned the victor.

Paintballwincount.com is dedicated to celebrating all of the professional paintball players and professional paintball teams who have climbed to the top of the mountain and held the trophy high. At that moment in time, labeled as the best in the world. Some have been to the top of the mountain more than others, but each win is special and deserves to be acknowledged by anyone who is involved in the sport of paintball. Enjoy.

Art Chaos has arrived…

There’s a certain calmness standing on a field that’s been freshly laid out. The blades of grass slightly swaying as the dry Southern California air pushes past like a sporadic fan that you would think must be broken. Next door, the park hosting this years West Coast Open resembles what you might find at a weekend youth soccer league. As golf carts scatter between the six pristine looking fields to carry out the finishing touches, you can see Matty Marshall of Paintball Access gathering players for interviews and field breakdowns. The only thing breaking concentration as players gaze across the field hoping to visualize their wins are small planes taking off from the short runway set beside this park. It’s about 95 degrees outside, and it’s only Thursday evening. Prepare for a hot one…

Back and Forth battles are commonplace at the event. Teams that have never seen a first place podium finish at any PSP events; like Vicious and 187 Crew create upsets during nail-biter finishes. While on the contrary it was out of a twilight zone story-line to see Dynasty and Heat, two obvious powerhouse teams, picking up losses throughout the prelims. What first looked to be a field of dreams tournament setup, was quickly becoming twenty minute rounds of frustration and sweat. Just as the relentless temperature and sun beat down on the field, so did the scoreboard for some unlikely previous champions.

As I sat in the stands, it was clear that this tournament may see some new jersey colors gathered on the field celebrating after the final buzzer rang. While Edmonton Impact took the field, coming off confident from a win streak that reached across the Atlantic Ocean, Art Chaos was ready to prove their worth on American soil. Many believe that this is a new super-group that rose too quickly to the professional ranks, however I think the previous Russian Legion lineup (Alexander Berdnikov, Konstantin Fedorov, Mikhail Knyazev, Pavel Lukashuk, Vasiliy Panteleev, Sergey Solnyshkov, and Evgeny Zakharov) that is no stranger to a win, joined by another previous Legion and TonTons player (Axel Gaudin Sr), and some newcomers (Pavel Karsliev, Roman Lazarev, and Clint Moore) would have a much more conflicting idea. Just as ready as the weekend primed it for, the scoreboard began it’s counting game for both the Home and Away pit positioned teams. At the end of the day, this long, hot, blindingly sunny day Art Chaos WINS West Coast Open – PSP 2014.

Looking forward to arguably the most talked about and important tournament of each year, it’s strange to think what the World Cup scene will look like missing some of the most winning teams in paintball to the haunting thought of the Challenger’s Division. For now, just as those airplanes rise to the sky, so does Art Chaos rise that trophy they most surely deserve.

Much like the weather in Joliet, IL (landing site for the PSP Chicago), the ride to first place was not clear skies. A field built for aggressive play combined with a thunder storm featuring an on/off switch from the heavens made for some exciting gameplay.

Sunday – the sacred day of Finals – shared a field full of mud baths and small pools, though much different than your local spa would have.The game began as any paintball loving fan can wish for with solid laning, heavy play down the snake and dorito sides of the field, and a see-saw of points earned. Also included in the game was a fantastic match-up of snake play effort throughout the entire tournament by Houston Heat pair Chad George and Ryan Moorhead against Edmonton Impact pair Justin Cornell and Justin Rabackoff. The first four points took the clock down to 13:26 with some quick points thanks to uneven matches from players getting shot off the break.

Whether it was the great gun skills of both teams, the almost impossible attempt at getting traction coming out of the starting gate, or a combination of both it was hard for Houston and Edmonton alike to make it out with five players alive.Then…in unique fashion rarely seen in professional matches, there was an onslaught of penalties against the Heat team that had been riding head to head against Impact. Houston would only see five players starting a point once more for the rest of this match…but we’ll get back to that.

Chicago PSP 2014, Edmonton Impact vs. Houston Heat, the score is Tied 2-2, 13:26 left on the clock with a considerable amount of time to change the game for better or worse on each side, and major penalties are suffered by both Jon Woodley and Ryan Moorhead (whom after taking time off for a recent knee injury had been playing flawless). Making quick work of the power play action Justin Cornell continues his snake side demolition by appearing so suddenly in the 50 (halfway down the field for those that are not familiar with the term) snake that you would think he was a magician. As if it wasn’t enough to have 2 of his fellow teammates in the penalty box, Woodley of Heat honored the team with their third major penalty of the match in the following point.

Edmonton Impact, with the game in their favor 3-2, made quick work of the five versus two – severely onesided – breakouts for the next two points winning both in under 50 seconds each. On the eighth point Heat finally was able to breakout with four players at least, but still was not able to change the momentum back in their favor.

Edmonton Impact Wins PSP Chicago 2014 – after playing 5-on-5 for the first time since the 4th point of the match the game was just too tilted in the favor of the Canadians. Almost seeming to be the metaphoric symbol of this match, Justin Rabackoff bunkered out the last remaining Heat player on the dorito side, and just as their hopes had been shattered by the sheer number of major penalties so was this point.With the score reading 7-2, the penalties counting to 3 majors, the majority of points played with lopsided breakouts, the moral of the story is – a win, is a win, is a win. And with 8:25 still left on the clock, it certainly remains as a statement that Impact is ready to contend for that first place finish into the next tournament and is not just the best second place team.

Edmonton Impact was able to play this field layout very well throughout the entire tournament, and although their Finals match against Houston Heat was ultimately affected by major penalties, they created a great showing at the PSP Chicago 2014 Event. With the aggressive layout of the field and the rarely seen sideways center bunker, there was a lot of unorthodox play going on from every team. Edmonton Impact was able to stay in control with a great showing from snake player Justin Cornell, with Justin Rabackoff backing him up. Along with that Timothy Raney Stanczak had a solid showing with multiple clutch play appearances throughout the tournament to keep Edmonton in the driver’s seat. After suffering through multiple second place finishes Impact was able to breath easy getting their first PSP win since the 2010 season.

In a battle of the wits, Dynasty WINS MAO PSP 2014 – It was the team who made less mistakes that took home the gold. Dynasty and Impact went back and forth throughout the match exchanging points early on. At one point in the match, Dynasty went up 3-1 after Oliver Lang was able to hold off a 3 vs 1 assault, the defense allowed Kyle Spicka to exit the penalty box to hang the flag. Dynasty finished the match as the event champions with Impact pushing in trying to tie the match up. The finish was a score match of 3-2, the exact same as last year’s MAO with Dynasty vs. Damage. In the same situation, Damage was trying to get down the field to tie the game up, with time expiring.

San Diego Dynasty grabbed the win on a field layout most professional teams struggled with. Dynasty went undefeated throughout the entire MAO event, once again showing why they are the most dominant team in history. Dynasty seemed at home on the layout from the very first game to the last game. Most teams thought the advantage was on the outside, Dynasty choose to stick to the inside game and really became comfortable with staying inside. This style goes against the very nature of angles and advantage points most layouts offer. It takes a extreme amount of discipline and teamwork to execute the strategy Dynasty employed at MAO.

– Slow and Steady wins the race –

There were some long winded points to the Germany leg of the 2014 Millenium Series. With a field built to accept locking down lanes and making it hard for some progressive front player movement it was a very strategic balance of risk vs. reward.

The European Masters tournament was caught, hanging in the balance, for the entirety of this match. A slow four minute long first point was the pretense of what would come of this chess game like match-up, each team trying to not be the first to make a mistake. After the eternity (it seemed like!) of a nail biter Breakout Spa lost enough bodies for Impact’s Justin Cornell to run down the snake side and finish it up.

Edmonton, trying to capitalize on the lead and create more distance, placed the same lineup on the field. Much to their chagrin they quickly lost bodies on the dorito side, and while Dave Baines (Impact) attempted to recover that side Breakout had plans of their own. A two sided attack from Axel Gaudin (Breakout) jumping to the 50 dorito bunker and Quentin Duchene (Breakout) closed the deal on the second point.

Of course the European Masters can’t end in a tie, so with the final two points Impact was much more efficient in placing themselves at the top of the podium. After sitting the first two points Justin Rabackoff (Impact) dealt enough damage for Breakout to concede the deciding point. With a lead of 2-1 Impact need not do more but let the remaining 1:09 roll off the clock, however after bodies flew off the field from each side they safely stalemated a 1-on-1 opportunity to cast the first place shadow on Breakout.

– Welcome to the Wake show –

Nothing says welcome to the 2014 season of the PSP like an absolute all-out attack fest, ripe with 1-on-1’s and a few penalties just for taste.

Omaha Vicious arrived sunday ready to sport their first professional win in the PSP League, however the seasoned squad of Los Angeles Infamous had other plans. Infamous faced a tough draw throughout the tournament and came ready to continue the grind. Notably, Damian Ryan had a wonderful venture there among the Paintball Access player’s leader board with one of the highest kill counts of the tournament.

Starting off the match was a fantastic back-and-forth grind. Vicious took the early lead with a long point, ending in a 1-on-1 battle of wits between Zack Patient of Infamous and Zach Sherman of Vicious. With the Zach(ck)’s hard at work on the field the clock ran down over five minutes, victoring Sherman’s daring move to run down Patient for the point.

Continuing into the match was an onslaught of battles down the snake side of the field, across the middle with some heavy work from Damian Ryan (Infamous), to some gutsy plays by Trevor Resar (Vicious). Let’s not forget none other than Zack Wake (Infamous) crushing the finals match with a kill count in the double digits, really coming alive in this game and helping to solidify the win for Infamous by powering down the snake side of the field at every opportunity.

With the game in the lock at 6-3, and under 2:00 left Infamous felt gratification by rounding out that seventh point to bring home that Dallas PSP win.

Words from Coach Rusty Glaze

There are people who have said no one cares about the Series Championship in professional paintball. If you just look at the trophy its just metal and wood, but what it symbolizes is much more than that. The series trophy represents the sacrifices each person on the team had to make.

My wife and kids deserve as much of this trophy as me for the support Jessica Glaze gave me throughout the 2013 season. She took care of our kids while I went to practices and tournaments. I can never thank her enough for allowing me to do this.

It symbolizes the turn around that team Dynasty had from the 2012 season where nothing went our way and we had a bad year. We stuck it out together and worked our way to once again becoming the best team in the world in the hardest division, with the hardest cuts and stacked super star teams.

For me it symbolizes the success I had in my first year coaching a group that many say is hard to coach and a group I call my friends.

In the end of the 2013 season, we were the best team, the team of the year in my opinion. Once you understand everything that goes into winning the series, you might care. It is one of the highest achievements you can get and I finally got one.

Thanks to everyone on Dynasty this year for one of the best years of my career!!

– Until the wheels fall off… –

Leave it to World Cup to have one of the most exciting games of the year. One can’t ask for much more than a back and forth scoring match in the Finals of this all-important tournament of the 2013 season.

Some teams depend on World Cup to lock in the series title, some teams come to enjoy the great paintball vibes, and still others show up to make a statement. San Antonio XFactor was ready to set their franchise bar with their first World Cup win. With a bumpy road in the prelims winning and losing two matches each they certainly didn’t skip into their Sunday presence. While arguably it’s best to grind it out until you make it to the podium, sharpening your sword and fine tuning the game plans, it definitely isn’t the easiest way to bring home a medal labeled “1st Place”.

Fast forward, Edmonton Impact is winning 3-1, 14:14 remains on the clock, and XFactor is looking diminished on the field after conceding the last point. The snake side of a field is more often than not a focal point to the advantage, and Impact is making good use of this with Justin Cornell playing well while Justin Rabackoff starts to heat up. The fifth point rolls in and XFactor slows down, plays methodically, registering a turning point in the game with a win after drawing five minutes off the clock. This is when it really matters and although Impact leads for a total of 12:44 throughout the game, the deciding factor is when they start losing their momentum.

San Antonio moves forward with one slow point pushed with a deep dorito side cut by Colt Roberts, while the next point more snake side focused by Billy Bernacchia (William Bernacchia III headed their snake side attack for a majority of the match with their rotation player Demetrius Ninios trying to contribute as much as he could while wearing a cast from the broken hand he was suffering from). By the seventh point Impact was showing their control of the game dwindling as they tried out different player rotations to find a squad that can take back their lead. Rabackoff whom took over much of the snake presence for Edmonton, had a solid “impact” with a quick run conceded by XFactor, and leading into the ninth point it was a tied game at 4-4 with 4:37 left to go.

In what would be shattering to their cause Justin Rabackoff collected a Major penalty for Impact, and after the field was cleaned up by XFactor’s Archie Montemayor the end game was in their grasp. For the remainder of the match Impact would suffer from having a player in the penalty box because of Cornell’s penalty next.

XFactor road out their starting players throughout most of the game to the point of exhaustion, and it paid off. To the victor goes the spoils, San Antonio XFactor WINS World Cup, and makes their statement in the process.

-Tampa Bay damage’ing the West Coast Open-

Eight minutes left and an ecstatic Tampa Bay Damage player leaps around the field…rewind…

There’s not a better way to match up great laning from two top teams than to have bodies come off the field on the breakout of every point. Whether it was Edmonton Impact or Tampa Bay Damage, some key lanes and gun skills had a lot to do with the results here. Game plans especially start to change when you can’t include a five man team making it to their bunkers.

Unfortunately for Impact there was no point in the game in which they had the lead, it started off with a tough battle. With the breakout lanes leaving Damage with four players and Impact with 3 players, Tampa Bay having great position up the center of the field, and ready to set the tone at level: Aggressive it was an uphill battle for Edmonton. The second point brought the likelihood of a point battle for this California Finals match as Ryan Moorhead gained great position on the snake side while Greg Siewers did the same in the doritos.

Whether you’re a fan favorite of Damage or Impact, or perhaps just an onlooker of the sport, the only thing in store was a fantastic, heads up, never stopping attack from both sides. Beginning the third point left an even four bodies alive on each side, some great gun fighting skills (more-so on the Tampa Bay side this time) led to an action packed win for Damage. From there on the match rested at an all out assault by Damage, with more help handed to them by the minor penalty from Justin Rabackoff. A long time Impact player, Justin Cornell, brought his A-game to the field often gaining heavy ground up the center, but it just wasn’t enough to bring the lead back to the Canada locals.

As the point tallied, the clock not far under the half-way mark, Damage celebrated their latest win in the PSP Series. Although the scoreboard read one-sided, it was a hard fought effort from both sides.

With the reigning tournament winners (Toulouse TonTon) out of the running thanks to earlier matches from Art Chaos, Infamous would arrive from America ready to take the one spot.

The players of Infamous are no strangers to finals games, with a roster full of experience they came well suited to match up to Art Chaos for the final Professional game of the tournament. You can imagine by the way they performed that each player, with seat upright in locked position and tray tables stored away, passed through the London Airport with one message in their heads “Infamous WINS London Campaign Cup”.

In what can be deemed a perfect example of technical and aggressive paintball strategy, LA Infamous proceeded down the field with precision. With play-makers on the dorito side including Nicky Cuba and Damian Ryan making key moves at clutch points, and the snake side being obliterated by the relentless attack of Thomas Taylor they covered a convincing win.

The real decider was in the second point. With a solid first point win, and up on bodies there was what appeared to be a stalemate thanks to the quick maneuvering of Robert Aviles. Acting as the thorn in Art Chaos’ side, he was able to keep the snake presence filled and allow a clutch move from Nicky Cuba to finish the dorito side. From that point it was a downhill ride for Infamous to stack on the points.

– TonTon wins second Millennium in a row –

If you thought the last Toulouse TonTon win was exciting, you can just call this one “magical”.

The Finals match of the Germany European Masters began as any standard finals match would. With the Millennium Series matchup containing two top teams, the previous event winners Toulouse TonTon’s squared up against Houston Heat (also featuring Dynasty’s Ryan Greenspan). The battle kicked off fairly even with back and forth play containing everything from solid snake play by Toulouse’s Axel Gaudin and Houston’s Chad George to a long winded four minute battle of paint trouble’s.

The real magic happened for TonTon coming off a two point loss. Heat had a commanding presence and didn’t have any intentions of stopping after winning a slow one-on-one battle to make the game 4-2 in their favor. Chamboin, whom had just lost the one-on-one for the TonTon’s, daringly assaulted the second snake bunker making his presence known. After Houston Heat lost multiple players and suffered a penalty the point was in favor of Toulouse’s very own. Fifty Five second left on the clock, losing by one point, and looking to bring home the first place trophy the TonTon squad made easy work in an astonishing 0:22 (yes twenty two second!) match. Unfortunately for Houston Heat they suffered a penalty that didn’t help their cause.

The easy task would be to take it to overtime and get your knuckles bloody for that European Masters win. Instead Toulouse decided to run a similar setup, and with Houston suffering another quick loss of players, they managed to capture the cheers of the crowd with a 19 second point winning in Germany.

– TONTON VICTORIOUS OVER IMPACT IN FINALS –

The Mediterranean Cup came to an exciting close at the Millennium’s opener for the Series. With demanding play throughout the tournament, France’s very own, the Toulouse TonTons matched up with Canada’s Edmonton Impact for the final match. Action-packed through it’s entirety, the match came to a 3-3 tie with 1:32 remaining on the clock. The TonTons made quick work of Impact by shooting two players quickly off of the dorito side, creating a strong attack side. Toulouse player Axel Gaudin, realizing the strong match up, made smooth and calculated moves while eliminating the remaining Impact players with his team storming the opposite side.

Forty seconds remained on the clock, one would think a strong defense from the TonTons would be arranged to close out this game. Impact launched off the gates determining to tie the match and succeeded in getting key attack spots in the snake and dorito bunkers. Unfortunately their back players did not make it as easily, with one out off the break, and another following with a penalty. Toulouse made quick work of the 2 remaining Edmonton players, striking a clean 30 second point.

The game closed out with the headlines reading: TonTon WINS France Mediterranean Cup for their home team crowd 5-3 over Edmonton Impact.
